Summary
In the United States, USCIS will require electronic payments for all paper-filed applications starting October 28, 2025. Payments must be made by credit or debit card or by ACH withdrawal from a U.S. bank account, and exemptions require a separate request. At the same time, the Department of Labor has resumed processing foreign labor applications despite the ongoing government shutdown, though delays are expected as the backlog is cleared.

Australia has introduced a new online support service for people whose visas have expired or who hold a Bridging Visa E. The service is voluntary and aims to help individuals resolve their immigration status and avoid enforcement actions.

China has extended its visa-free entry policy for citizens of 45 countries until the end of 2026, allowing stays of up to 30 days for tourism, business, or family visits. Sweden has been newly added to the list of eligible countries.

Malaysia has launched an Overstay Management Program that allows certain short overstay cases by Employment Pass and Dependent Pass holders to be resolved through fixed fines rather than enforcement proceedings. Longer or repeated overstays and individuals with violations remain subject to enforcement.

New Zealand has updated how certain occupations are classified under its Accredited Employer Work Visa program. Ninety-one additional occupations at skill levels 1 to 3 are now recognized, allowing some workers to stay longer or bring family members, and providing a pathway for others to transition into these roles if they have relevant experience or qualifications.

The United Kingdom and Switzerland have agreed to extend the Services Mobility Agreement until the end of 2029. This arrangement allows professionals from both countries to provide services in the other country for limited periods without visas or work permits, supporting continued business and professional exchange.
