Summary
Saskatchewan has laid its first charge for providing immigration services without a licence, a case apparently linked to TingTing Biao’s experience that CBC previously reported. Biao said she paid $40,000 to Jun Su and Saskatoon-based June HR Solutions for immigration advice that promised a clear path to permanent residency, but her family ultimately returned to China after learning Su was not a licensed immigration consultant.

The province says Su is charged under Saskatchewan’s Immigration Services Act, 2024 for unlicensed immigration services. If convicted, she could face a fine of up to $750,000 and/or up to two years in prison. The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training also encouraged anyone with concerns or complaints about immigration or recruitment practices to contact its Program Compliance Branch, noting that doing so does not require anyone’s permission and information will be kept confidential.
