Summary
Australia’s Department of Home Affairs has expanded the list of accepted English language tests for visa purposes from five to nine as of 7 August 2025, aiming for consistent scoring and greater flexibility. From 13 September 2025, changes to the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) will introduce three new test options, adjust some existing test and score requirements, and end acceptance of the Cambridge C1 Advanced test for this visa.
In Malaysia, from 7 August 2025, the Immigration Department’s ESD Online system will feature an enhanced document sighting function for Employment Pass and Professional Visit Pass applicants, offering centralized notifications, improved rescheduling, and clearer documentation guidance.
Mexico will launch electronic visas on 9 August 2025 for certain nationalities, removing the need for in-person consular appointments for non-remunerated activities.
Peru will exempt Singaporean nationals from business visa requirements starting 12 August 2025, allowing stays of up to 90 days per year.
Poland has adopted a draft law enabling online applications for various residence permits, including a three-year temporary residence for Ukrainians under temporary protection, and introducing measures for EU-wide recognition of return decisions.
Saudi Arabia has extended its grace period for expired visit visas until 25 August 2025, allowing holders to apply for exit permits without overstay fines, though penalties and entry bans will apply after the deadline.
Additionally, Smith Stone Walters has joined Envoy Global, strengthening global immigration service capabilities.
