Summary
The Ministry of Home Affairs of Nepal has denied allegations that its leadership was involved in irregularities at the Immigration Office of Tribhuvan International Airport. In an official statement, Joint Secretary Chhabi Rijal called the media reports baseless and misleading. He stated that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is currently investigating the matter, and the ministry will fully cooperate with the inquiry. The ministry emphasized that its leadership has no connection to any illegal or corrupt practices and urged the public and media to wait for verified information. The statement was issued in response to reports claiming officials colluded with ministry leaders to send youths abroad on visit visas in exchange for large sums of money. Several civil servants from the airport's immigration section have been transferred amid the investigation.
