Summary: At the end of 2025, Poland had approximately 2.3 million foreign residents, representing about 6% of the population, with Ukrainians accounting for 73% of all foreigners. Foreign residents make up a significant share of the population in major cities, including 14.5% in Warsaw and 19.5% in Wrocław, while some smaller industrial towns have even higher proportions.

Poland has become one of Europe's leading immigration destinations over the past decade, issuing the highest number of first residence permits to non-EU nationals among EU member states from 2017 to 2022. Immigration has also been driven by the arrival of nearly one million Ukrainian refugees since Russia's 2022 invasion, and by the end of 2025, around 1.14 million foreign nationals were employed in Poland, accounting for nearly 7% of the workforce.
