Japan’s Immigration Services Agency plans to strengthen its response to unauthorized employment by working with other ministries. As early as October, its officers may join inspections of demolition and construction sites, where they can check workers’ residence cards and take action when violations are found. The agency is also planning joint inspections of outdoor scrap storage facilities and cooperation with the agriculture ministry during busy farming seasons.
